有一读者问： 有这样一句话：

为什么连用and而不说：
(2)I was weak, cold and hungry.
句（2）是一般的说法。句（1）连用and是为了强调其后的词，故是一种强调的说法。这种强调结构常可遇到，再如：
(3)All about the garden is the roar of the city, like the sound of the sea; but within the gardens there is light and peace and blue air. （顺便请注意这里的garden与gardens同义，皆指一公园）
(4)Here for four very difficult years they worked every moment they could spare, weighing and boiling and measuring and calculating and thinking. （they指居里夫妇）
