有一读者问：
(1)“They came to visit our school the day before yesterday,” she said.
(2)He said to me, “I'll write back telling you about it the day after tomorrow.”
这两个句子中的直接引语变为间接引语时，其中的时间状语应相应地做何变动？
例（1）中的 the day before yesterday 如指说话人说话时的前天，在间接引语中可以保持不变；如指句中谓语动词 said 的前天，最好将它改为 two days before（在非正式文体中亦可用 ago）或直接点出星期几。 用the day before the previous day 亦可。例（2）中的the day after tomorrow 可以保持不变， 也可以变为 the day after the next, 也可以直接点出星期几，也可以用after two days （或 two days after）。
