我不知道在动词 saw 后面为什么要用 advertised。
advertised 是过去分词，用作宾语补足语。宾语 a teaching post...where I lived 很长，故而将宾语补足语 advertised 及其地点短语 in a local newspaper 移前了。这种将宾语补足语置于宾语之前的情况在英语里并不罕见，再如：
(2)They borrowed money and managed to get built within five months a dormitory building with a floor space of 1,500 square metres for the school.
不仅用作宾语补足语的过去分词可以置于宾语之前，用作宾语补足语的现在分词亦可置于宾语之前，例如：
(3)She found awaiting her there a number of letters, some of which pleased her and some of which she frowned upon.
其他可用作宾语补足语的如名词、形容词等，其实也都可置于宾语之前，例如：
(4)They will elect chairman anyone willing to serve.
(5)He thought desirable most of the women in the room.
以上诸例和所提问的句子一样，也都是由于宾语较长而将宾语补足语置于其前的。
