说“请求”或“抗议”习惯用复数形式representations。

represent作“代表（某人）”解，比较下面两句：

reporter（访员）后面接to，on或for和报纸名。

注意He did interesting reportage（报道）on international affairs里用did和on。

report（动词）不作“向…报告”解，如“我将向你报告”，不可说I shall report you，该在report后面加上to。I shall report you作“我将告发你”解。

reply作“回答”解是及物动词。例如：He had nothing to reply.和He did not know what to reply.

下面四句意思相仿：

repent和repent of意思相同。

repellent语气比repulsive轻得多。

repeat作“重复”解，repeat again是“第二次重复”，连着本身的一次共有三次。

repay a visit（回访）现在不及return a visit普通。

“赔偿”通常用复数形式reparations。例如：They demanded reparations for the damage.
