suspenders在英国指吊袜带，在美国指吊裤带，相当于英国的braces

suspect用在presence，plot，danger等词前面作“疑有…”解，用在motive，truth，authenticity等词的前面作“疑…不可靠”解。

Suppose属于祈使语气，supposing是现在分词。有人以为用suppose比用supposing好。

supply不可有双宾语，如不可说He supplies them food and clothing，该在them后面加上with。

supplement（补编）后面接to。

supper有时指“晚餐那件事”，有时指“晚餐吃的东西”，不论作哪一个解，都有时是类名词，有时不是。例如：
