mown grass和new-mown hay里的mown不可改作mowed。

motion picture（电影）现在比moving picture普通得多。

a movie指“一个电影”，the movies或the movie是“一次电影映演”或统指电影或电影业。

move（动议、提议）后面接以that引导的从句，从句里用虚拟现在式，如I move that the time be（不用is）changed和I moved that the time be（不用was）changed。

mouthful的复数形式是mouthfuls，不是mouthsful。

by word of mouth（口头地）中没有a或the。

mouse指任何小种的鼠，不指年幼的鼠。它比rat小。

mourn a dead friend不及mourn for（或over）a dead friend普通。

mountain和hill没有绝对的区别，一二千英尺高的小山，在本地也许叫做mountain，在山多的地方也许把近一万英尺的高山叫做hill。

motive（动机）前面用from，习惯用复数形式motives。
