为什么句 （1）中的 freedom 之前不加 the，而句 （2）中的 freedom 之前则加 the?

有几位读者不约而同地都问： 某期《英语学习》的例句The child is father of the man是什么意思？ 是否印错了？ 是否应是The man is father of the child?

为什么句（1）用 husband and wife ，而句（2）用 the father and son? 又，为什么说 the father and son 而不说 the father and the son ?

但同其他天体连用时，则应用不加the的大写第一字母的Earth。上述句（1）即属于这种情况：Earth与Mars连用。注意习语on earth中的earth并不意指“地球”，而是意指“世界”。

有人问： in class与in the class有什么区别？

有人问：有的语法书上说 He is a Chinese 或 He is a Japanese 是不地道的英语，应说 He is Chinese 或 He is Japanese。对吗？

但根据《实用英语语法》1995年修订本（张道真编著）第67页最后一行说，Golden Gate Bridge属专有名词前不加冠词，而上述句（1）却用了定冠词the，不知何故？

这两道选择题答案均为D，但我查了身边的一些书，发现有的有冠词，有的没有冠词，似乎很难掌握。
