单词的用法及固定搭配

下面两句都可以说：

reservations用作“在旅馆、火车等预订的床位或座位”解是美国英语。例如：We made reservations for the holiday season.

resent后面接动名词，不接不定式，如可以说He resents being kept waiting，不可说He resents to be kept waiting。

resemble现在只用作及物动词，后面没有to，如He resembles his brother里不该在resembles后面加上to。

research和researches都可以用，但很少用a research。

come to the rescue 和 go to the rescue都通常作“来（或去）援助”解

a necessary requisite里的necessary是多余的，该去掉。

requirement是“需要”或“需要物”, requisite是“需要物”，不作“需要”解

The rule requires (of) all the clerks to arrive at the office by two o'clock和The Minister requires (of) you to attend a special conference to be held on Monday等句子里的of用的少，不用的多。

request不及ask通俗，通常不用在口语里。

of repute=of reputation，of good repute=of good reputation，of bad repute=of bad reputation，似乎没有of no repute 的说法。

of reputation是“有好名声的”，等于of good reputation，of no reputation是“有坏名声的”，不是“不著名的”，等于of bad reputation。
