英译汉常见错误 | each...not 并非每一个都

［误译］　他们中每个人都没有钻石戒指。
［原意］　他们中并非每个人都有钻石戒指。
［说明］　each...not意为“并非每一个都”，是部分否定，而不是全部否定，全部否定是None of them has a diamond ring（他们都没有钻石戒指）。本例也可写成Not each of them has a diamond ring。
