(1) continual 和 continuous这两个词在意思上有细微区别。continual通常用于频繁、重复的动作，且常用来表达令人讨厌的动作，可以有停顿。而continuous常用来表达不停顿的动作。

• I can't work with all these continual interruptions!
  老是有这么些干扰，我无法工作！
• She was tired of continual trips to hospital, the market and office.
  她对于不停地在医院、市场和办公室之间跑来跑去感到厌倦了。
• There was continuous fighting on the frontier all day yesterday.
  昨天一整天，边境上进行着连续不断的战斗。
• The continuous work made me completely exhausted.
  连续的工作使我疲惫不堪。

 (2) continually 和continuously为副词，两者的差别与它们的形容词相同。前者意为“老是，不断地”，含有“重复、有间歇”的意味；后者意为“持续不断”。

• The river flows continuously along the border between Russia and China.
  这条河沿中俄边界不断奔流。
• You should stir the water continually throughout the experiment.
  整个实验期间，你要不断地搅动水。
