 (2) levy on/upon意为“向(某人)征收(a tax/a fine/a ransom等)；依法向(某人)征收(货物、资产等)偿债”。

• Tax should be levied more on the rich than on the poor.
  向富人征的税应比向穷人征的多。
• The court may have to levy on your property to pay your debts.
  法院将不得不征收你的资产来偿还你的债务。
