(1) 表示“遗忘”时，如果说出地点就不能用forget，而要用leave。

• I have forgotten my umbrella. I have left it at home.
  我把伞忘在家里了。

但不能说I forgot my pen in the office。

 (2) leave常与behind连用，表示“遗忘，留下/不带走”。

• Make sure not to leave your things behind in the taxi.
  一定不要把什么东西落在出租车上。
• Mum, don't leave me behind !
  妈妈，不要把我留下。
• His five years in office left behind a long train of problems and difficulties for the country.
  他任职五年，给这个国家留下了一长串的问题和困难。
