(1) 在英式英语中，immediately可以用作连接词，引出时间状语从句，意思是“一……就……”，相当于as soon as...。

 (2) the moment, the minute, the instant, the second不论在英式英语还是美式英语中，都可以用作连接词，意思与immediately相同。

• Do telephone me the moment you get the results.

• I loved you the instant I saw you.
  我对你一见钟情。
• The enemy plane was shot down the moment it intruded into our air space.
  敌机一侵入我们领空就被击落了。
