(1) lose heart是“灰心，泄气”。

• Never lose heart whatever you do, there's always hope.
  不管做什么绝不能灰心，总是有希望的。

 (2) lose hope是“失望”。

• He didn't lose hope , though he had failed in his experiment.
  虽然试验失败了，但他没有失望。

 (3) lose one's heart to意思是“爱上、倾心于(某人)，非常喜欢(某物)”。

• Grace lost her heart to her red-haired boy two years ago.
  格雷丝两年前就倾心于她的红发男友了。
• As soon as I saw the house, I lost my heart to it.
  我一看到这所房子就爱上了它。

 (4) be/feel let down意思是“使感到失望、灰心”。

• I've never been/felt so let down as when I was refused entry to the group that I wished to join.
  在我被拒绝加入我想参加的小组时，我从未感到如此的灰心、失望。
