 (1) make good/effective use of 中的形容词又可以变成比较级和最高级。

 (2) make the best of it/a bad job是指对不爱做的事好好去做，往好里做；对一个不好的事实乐观地接受，妥善处置。

• We've lost the chance, but we must make the best of it .
  我们失去了机会，但我们必须尽量好好做。
• One must learn to make the best of a bad job .
  人必须学会在不利情况下尽量少受损失。
• The car's broken down again so we must make the best of it and catch the bus.
  汽车又坏了，我们必须想办法去赶公共汽车。
