(1) ①recall意为“记起，想起，回顾，记得”，后接名词、动名词、从句，也可接how, who, where when之类和不定式构成的复合结构。

• But I really cannot recall your name at this moment.
  但我此时此刻实在记不起你的名字了。
• I can still recall your coming to my house 20 years ago.
  我还记得20年前你来我家的情景。
• I could not recall meeting/having met him.
  我不记得见过他。
• I can't recall how to do it.
  我不记得如何做那件事了。

②用事物作主语，意思是“使回想起”。

• The scene recalled to him the fishing village in which he had stayed for one year 30 years ago.
  这景象使他回想起30年前他曾待过一年的渔村。

 (2) ①recollect意思是“回想，记得，记起”，与recall通常可以换用，可接名词、动名词、名词关系从句。

• I can't recollect your name.
  我记不清你的名字了。
• Can't you recollect whether Helen came to see us?
  你不记得海伦是否来看过我们？
• Try hard to recollect what you saw just before the accident.
  努力回想一下事故前你看到了什么。
• Do you recollect borrowing/having borrowed a book from me?
  你记得从我这里借过一本书吗？

②recollect还可用于下面的结构。

• Do you recollect how to get there?
  你还记得如何到那里的吗？
• As far as I can recollect , he borrowed $50 from us, not $200.
  我记得，他是向我们借了50美元，不是200美元。

 (3) ①remember意为“记得，记起，记住”，后接名词、代词、动名词、从句、不定式、带连接副词或代词的不定式复合结构(名词性短语)。

• When I remember those days I lived with my friends in HK, it takes long before I calm down.
  每当我回忆起在香港与朋友们一起生活的日子，心情总是久久难以平静。
• Bethune will always be remembered for his utter devotion to others without any thought of self.
  白求恩毫不利己、专门利人的精神，将永远被人们记住。

②remember接动名词表示“还记得(做过的事情)”。

• I still remember seeing her at a party 20 years ago.
  我仍然能记得20年前在一次聚会上见到她时的情景。
• I can still remember us/our walking hand in hand through the streets together.
  我还记得我们一起手拉手在大街上散步的情景。

③remember接不定式时，则表示“记住要做的事”。

• Remember to post the letter for me.
  记住帮我寄这封信。
• Do you remember how to operate the machine?
  你记得如何操作这机器吗？

＊不定式若用完成时，则表示“记得曾经……”。

• He never remembered to have known such weariness as he felt now.
  他从不记得曾经有过像现在所感觉到的疲劳。
• ④remember还可用来表示“送礼，给小费；代向……问候、致意”。
• Please remember the waiter.
  请给服务员小费。
• She always remembers me on my birthday.
  在我生日时，她总是给我送来礼物。
• Remember me to your household.
  请代我向你家人问候。
• Mother asked to be remembered to you.
  妈妈让我代她向你问候。

 (3) ①remind意为“提醒(某人做某事)；使想到(某人或某物)”，常用的句型为remind sb. of..., remind sb. that..., remind sb. to (do) sth.。

• I write to remind you to return that book to the library when it's due.
  我写信提醒你那本书到期时要还给图书馆。
• You remind me so much of your father, especially when you smile.
  你使我一下子想到你父亲，特别是当你微笑时。
• Travellers are reminded that inoculation against yellow fever is advisable.
  旅行者被提醒接种防黄热病疫苗是明智之举。
• The pagoda reminds me to Yan'an in War of Resistance days.
  这座宝塔使我想起了抗日战争时期的延安。

②remind作“提醒”解时，除用of外，也可用about。

• I might have forgotten to pay the money for the book if you hadn't reminded me of/about it.
  若不是你提醒，我可能会忘了付书钱。

注意：remind sb. of doing sth.意思是“使某人想起曾做过某事”，而remind sb. to do sth.则是“提醒某人去做某事”。

• It was fortunate that you reminded me of my meeting with Jim.
  幸好你提醒我与吉姆见过面。
• I might have forgotten to repay the money you lent me if you hadn't reminded me to do so.
  若非你提醒我，我可能会忘记了还你借给我的钱。

 (4) memorize (learn by heart)是“熟记，记住”(commit to memory)，后接名词、代词。

• A: Can you recite that poem?
  你能背诵那首诗吗？
  B: Oh, sorry, I only memorize part of it.
  喔，很抱歉，我只记住了一部分。
• You don't have to memorize it word by word.
  不必逐字记忆。
