(1) representative作形容词时，意思是“表明/象征/说明/代表……的”，与of连用。当名词作“代表”解时，多指选出的，或委任的代表、代理。

• Mr. Smith is our representative at the conference.
  史密斯先生是我方会议代表。
• Copies of the statement were handed out to the press representatives .
  这项声明的文本被分发给了新闻记者。
• The tiger is seen as a common representative of the cat family.
  老虎被视为猫科动物的普通代表。

 (2) delegate指“(被选派参加会议或派驻机构的)代表”。

• Mr. Wang acted as Chinese delegate to the UN.
  王先生担任中国驻联合国代表。
• He said his government hadn't appointed any delegates/representatives to the conference.
  他说他的政府尚未任命参加会议的代表。

 (3) ①deputy意思是“代表，代理人”，一般指受托代理工作或职权的人。

• I must find someone as (a) deputy for me during my absence.
  我必须找一个人，在我离开期间代理我的职务。
• The Prime Minister's deputy has powers conferred by Parliament.
  首相的代表拥有议会赋予的权力。

②deputy还可指“某些国家(如法国)立法机构的成员”。

  法国等国的国民议会议员
• Mr. Li used to be a deputy to the National People's Congress before his death.
  李先生生前曾是全国人大代表。
