  • Immoral acts such as telling a lie, stealing and murder are all sins .
  • It's a sin to give the children so much homework on such a fine day.

  • It is the business of the police to prevent and detect crime and of the law courts to punish crime .
  • Figures released last year showed that crimes in the economic field had increased sharply in the previous year.

  • It's a crime to waste so much food/to stay indoors on such a beautiful day/to let the children go out on such a cold, wet night.

  • He was arrested as a murder suspect, but he was released, as his guilt couldn't be established.
  • At first he tried to conceal his guilt , but later, in the face of lots of evidence he had to admit it.
  • The judge lacked sufficient evidence to establish the suspect's guilt .

  • That boy behaved badly, but the guilt lay with his parents, who had copped out of their responsibilities for caring about his behaviour.
  • Nothing could erase the guilt from his conscience.

  • Measures must be taken to curb juvenile delinquency .

  • He was charged with a serious offence .
  • For what offence was he arrested?
  • Don't make so much noise — it's an offence to the neighbors.
  • You needn't be angry with him, he meant no offence by that remark.
