(1) slip意思是“滑，滑动；失足，滑倒；滑落，滑脱”，指因失去平衡或控制不牢所导致的瞬间的滑动。

• He slipped on the icy road and broke his leg.
  他滑倒在结冰的路上，摔断了腿。
• The knife slipped and cut my hand.
  刀子一滑，割破了我的手。
• The cup slipped off the table and was broken.
  茶杯从桌子上滑下，摔碎了。

 (2) ①slide是在光滑的表面作连续滑动或滑行。

• The drawers of this desk slide in and out easily.
  这张书桌的抽屉推拉很容易。
• The children are sliding on the ice.
  孩子们在滑冰。

②slide也可表示“滑落”。

• The glass slid off my hand and fell to the ground. (更常用slipped off)
  玻璃杯从我手上滑落，摔在地上。

③slide可作及物动词。

• Slide the drawer into its place.
  把抽屉关回去。

 (3) glide意为“滑行，滑动，滑翔”，指平滑连续地移动，也可指轻盈地走动或游动。

• The skier glided skillfully down the snow-covered slope.
  滑雪者从积雪覆盖的山坡上轻盈地滑下。
• The dancers glided over the floor of the hall.
  舞蹈演员们轻盈地滑过大厅的地板。
• A beautiful bird glided to the ground.
  一只美丽的小鸟轻盈地落到地面上。
