(1) 作为副词slow比slowly语气要强，因此slow常用于祈使句(如路标等)，slowly多用于陈述句。

• Boys mature more slowly than girls, both physically and psychologically.
  男孩比女孩成熟得慢，身体上、心理上都是这样。
• He walked slowly down the street.
  他沿着街慢慢地走着。
• Drive slower!
  慢行！
• Slow , dangerous bend!
  险弯，慢行！

 (2) 在非正式场合，在某些动词如go, drive, pass, speak等后，常用slow。

• My watch goes slow .
  我的表走得慢。
• The car went slower and slower until it came to a stand-still.
  汽车开得越来越慢直到停了下来。
• How slow/slowly the time passes！
  时间过得真慢！
