(1) station指提供某种服务的站、所等。如：a fire station, a police station, a radar station, a broadcasting station。

作车站解时常指火车站，为明确起见，多用railway station。station也可用作汽车站，如：bus station，指有售票处、候车室的车站；路边即停即走的车站为bus stop。

• I will go to the railway station to meet a friend of mine this afternoon.
  今天下午我要去火车站接个朋友。
• At which stop will you get off?
  你在哪一站下车？

 (2) terminal指铁路、公路等的终点站。

• I've arranged for a car to pick you up at the railroad terminal .
  我已安排好一辆车去火车站接你。
