(1) there is no doing结构等于it is impossible to...，意思是“无法……；不能……”。

• There is no telling/knowing/saying what they'll do next.
  无法预料下一步他们会做什么。
• There was no more joking or lingering . In fact, there was hardly any time to say good-bye.
  不能再开玩笑或磨蹭了。事实上，人们几乎连告别的时间都没有了。
• There is no denying the fact that the new method has greatly raised labor productivity.
  新方法大大提高了劳动生产力，无人能否认这个事实。
• There is no joking about such matters.
  这种事开不得玩笑。
• There is no holding back the wheel of history.
  无人能阻挡历史前进的车轮。

 (2) ①there is no use/good/sense/point/harm (in) doing sth. 意思与it's no use/good/sense/point/harm doing sth.相同。

• There is no sense in making the child suffering so much.
  让这个孩子受这么多苦没什么意义。
• It's no good waiting here; let's walk home.
  在这儿干等没用；我们还是回家吧。
• It's no/little help talking to him about it.
  跟他说这些没什么用(帮助不大)。
• It's no use you/your talking to her — let me do it.
  你跟她说不会有用——还是让我来吧。
• There is no point in arguing further.
  再争论下去没什么意义。
• There is no sense in arguing with them over the matter.
  为此事跟他们争论没任何意义。

②但there is no need后常接不定式。

• There is no need to hurry — we've got plenty of time.
  不用着急——我们有的是时间。

③用于疑问句时，要将no换成any。

• Is there any good/harm in visiting him now?
  现在就去拜访他有什么好处／坏处吗？
• Is it any help asking him to come now?
  让他现在就来，会于事有补吗？
