区别辨析 What do you think of...? How do you like...? 与 How do you think of...?

 (1) 三个说法都是“你觉得……怎样?”,可以换用。

  • What/How do you think of the film we saw yesterday?
    你认为我们昨天看的电影怎么样?
  • What do you think of the new foreign teacher?
    你觉得我们的新外教怎么样?

 (2) How do you like...?意为“你觉得……怎样?”或“你喜欢……吗?”

  • How do you like your foreign teacher?
    你喜欢你们的外教吗?
  • How do you like Guilin?
    你认为桂林怎么样?

 (3) 另外还有几个相似的说法,在意思和用法上有所区别。

What about...?意思是“……怎样/如何?”,about为介词,后接名词、代词、动名词,常用于征求意见、提建议或询问消息。美国人常用“How about...?”,意思和用法相同。

  • What about going camping this weekend? (=What do you think of going camping this weekend?)
    这个周末去露营怎样?
  • What about Tom? (=What do you know about Tom?/What do you think of Tom?)
    你认为汤姆如何?
  • Oh, I'm fine, thanks. How/What about your wife and children?
    我很好,谢谢。你太太和孩子都好吗?
  • What about the weather now?
    现在天气怎样?
  • How/What about if we have a game of chess? 下
    盘棋怎样?
  • Of course I'll come. What about tomorrow?
    我当然会来。明天怎么样?

 (4) What of...?可以表示“……情况(后来)怎样?”,相当于What do you think of...?或What is to be said of...?与What about...?意思和用法基本相同,可以互换。

  • What of the child he saved from the river?
    他从河中救出的孩子怎么样了?

 (5) What of it/that?表示“那又有什么关系呢?”或“那又怎么样呢?”,有轻视或不当一回事的意味。

  • A: You may have offended the boss.
    你可能得罪了老板。
    B: What of it ?
    那又怎么样?
  • His speech may not be exactly standard English, but what of it/that ?
    他的演讲可能不完全是标准英语,但这又有何关系?
