关于“with+名(代)词+不定式”结构

有一读者问这样一句话:

你大概对由“with+名(代)词+分词”组成的独立结构比较熟悉,而对于上述句中的with a place to spare for me就有点陌生了。其实“with+名(代)词+不定式”的有独立结构也不罕见,再如:

(3)Nobody has much of a chance to go wrong in Avonlea with Rachel to oversee them.

顺便说一下,含有with的独立结构多用在平易通俗的文体中,而在较为正式而文气的文体中,with则一般是不用的,实例如:

(4)Their room was on the third floor, its window overlooking the sports ground .

(5)We divided the work, he to clean the window and I to sweep the floor .
