中文译文是：有时候，寡妇把我领到一旁，谈些关于上帝的事，说得真是叫人馋得要命。原文中的 in a way 是一习语，其义应是“从某种意义上说”，所以译文“真是叫人”是否译错了？
译文没有错。 in a way 在此并非意谓“从某种意义上说”，而是相当于 in a manner （以某种方式），再如：
(2)He cracked a joke in a way to make you hold your sides.
(3)He spoke in a way that made her think of her father.
in a way 有时也确有“在某种程度上”（常可译作“多少，有几分”）或“从某种意义上说”的意思，如：
(4)In a way he is right.
(5)—Do you think he has made a mistake?
—Yes, in a way .
由此可以看出， in a way 具有两种不同的含义和用法，二者不可混淆。
