有一读者问： Where were you born?是主系表结构吗？
可以看作是主系表结构，也可以看作是被动结构。前一种看法的理由是：born在此已变成一个形容词，表静态。它在下面两句中都是形容词，而且两句的意思是一样的：
(1)He was born a poet.
(2)He was a born poet.
后一种看法的理由是：born 相当于 brought into the world，表动态，所以可为时间、地点、方式等状语所修饰，如：
(3)He was born in Shanghai in 1959.
(4)He was born easily.
当然，不管看法如何分歧，对上述例（2）中的born是形容词一点上还是一致的。
