tradespeople 指“小商人（tradesman）”，往往包括他们的家属。

tradesman 在英国现在只指小商人，尤其指“零售店主”，trader指“把货物供给零售商的大商人”。

foreign trader通常指“从事于国外贸易的人”，不指“外国的商人”。

trade union和trades union都可以用。

in town，out of town，come to town，go (up) to town，leave town等表达方式里习惯没有the，town指附近的大城，在英国往往指伦敦

在英国towards比toward普通，在美国toward比towards普通。

on tour和on a tour都可以说。

tough用作“兇恶的”或“恶棍”解是美国英语。

可以说They tortured him to get some information，不可说They tortured him to give some information。
