在美国commonwealth往往指美国的任何一个州（state），如the commonwealth of Virginia。

common有“共同的”或“共有的”的意思，但commonly没有“共同地”或“共有地”的意思

common通常作“寻常的”或“一般的”解。

a committee on foreign affairs等表达方式里用on。

commit myself（或yourself等）to（使自己不得免于）里的to是介词

commission（委员会）比committee（委员会）范围大。

commerce指大规模的商业，尤其指都市间或国际间的。

commentator后面接on。例如：a commentator on the news of the day

comment是不及物动词，后面接on或upon。在用作名词的时候后面也接on或upon。

commencement在英国指剑桥大学和爱尔兰首都的Trinity College的博士和硕士学位授与典礼（每年举行一次）。

command语气很强，如说上级“命令”下级。父母叫子女做什么事该用tell，不用command。

该说the coming week, the coming year, the coming Monday等，不该说this coming week等。
