he races指“赛马”。例如：He met them at the races.

quote the book和quote from the book意思相同，quote the author和quote from the author也意思相同。

quotation有时统指一切引语。例如：The book has a wealth of illustrative quotation.

quiz（名词）用作“非正式的考试”解和（动词）用作“对（学生）举行非正式的考试”和“举行非正式的考试”解是美国英语。

quite right和all right都可以说。也有人说quite all right，但这种说法不合理，该避免。

quit的过去式和过去分词在英国通常是quitted，在美国通常是quit。

quietly有时用作感叹语，作“轻一些！”解。例如：Quietly! Don't wake her up.

“一刻钟”该说a quarter of an hour，不可没有an，也不可单用a quarter，但在a quarter past three，a quarter to five等表达方式里没有of an hour。

quantity用于可数名词和不可数名词都可以，如a quantity of flowers和a quantity of water。
