class-fellow是“同班同学”，通常和I, my, you(r)等单词同用，不可用作“班里的学生”解

class被用作学校里的“班”解是英美通用的，如amathematics class和a class of beginners。

a clap of hands是“手的一拍”，a clapping of hands是“一次拍手”。

claim是及物动词，后面不可接for，如不可说He claims for the property。该把for删去。

Chinese civilization, European civilization等表达方式前面用the或不用the都可以。

city在一般词典里注作“城”，其实是“都市”，不一定有城墙。

citizen通常指共和国的公民，subject通常指君主国的国民，如Chinese citizen和British subject。

Piccadilly Circus（Piccadilly 环形交叉口）等前面没有the。

under the circumstances（事情既然这样，既然如此）比in the circumstances普通些。

circulate用于人是美国英语。例如：The children are allowed to circulate among the grown-ups.

说“集团的一群人”用单数形式circle，如He has a large circle of friends和He is very happy in his family circle。

cinema用作“电影院”解在英国很普通，在美国很不普通。
