用作形容词在英国通常写作over-all（有连字号），在美国通常写作overall（没有连字号）。

现在只用复数形式outskirts，前面用on。

outside the house, outside the scope of the article,outside his interests等表达方式里的outside是介词

at the outset和from the outset的区别，相当于at the beginning和from the beginning的区别。

output通常用作抽象名词，很少用an output和outputs。
