汉译英常见错误

原文：如果我是你的话，我一定去申请这个职位。我认为你大有希望。
错译：I should apply for the post if I were you, I think you stand a good opportunity.

[译] 我女儿是游泳冠军。
[误] My daughter is a swimming championship.

原文：他们顾不上考虑时间或任何其他因素就开始寻找水下洞穴。
错译：Heedless of time or any other consideration, they began to search the underwater hole.

原文：我们公司与海外客户的生意往来很多。
错译：Our firm does a lot of businesses with overseas customers.

原文：她估计这条河从一边到另一边大约有50米长。
错译：She estimated the length from side to side of this river to be 50 metres.

原文：公共开支必须控制在合理的范围内。
错译：Public spending must be kept within reasonable bound.

原文：今年华盛顿的樱花开得很早。
错译：The cherry bloom came out early in Washington this year.

[译] 我们已经在南极建立了一个基地。
[误] We have set up a basis at the South Pole.

[译] 父母有某些约束孩子的权威。
[误] The parents have some authorities with their children.

[译] 汤姆生教授是一位学识渊博的学者。
[误] Prof. Thomson is a scholar of the highest attainment.

错译：Her leadership qualities were the greatest wealth of the Conservative Party.

错译：The staff is working frantically on final arrangement for the summit.
