容易误译的英语

money 在这里不能当“钱”解，而是“看法”、“赌注”之意。

本例的mixer 意为“善于交际的人”、“交际家”（美国口语）。可见mixer 是“人”，而不是“物”。

Mr. Right（口语）意为“理想（结婚对象）的男子”、“如意郎君”、“白马王子”，美式英语也用Mr. Perfect。

mother-to-be（名词）意为“孕妇”，复数形式不是mother-to-bes，而是mothers-to-be。

a most +形容词（原形）不是形容词的最高级形式，即不表示“最……”之意，而是“非常……”、“极为……”、“很……”的意思，与extremely, very 等词同义。

如果像“误译”中那样译，英文句子应是Kirk likes Rena more than me = Kirk likes Rena more than he likes me。

A more than B 意为“与其说B，还不如说A”。

本例中的more（副词）意思不是“再”，而是“更多地”或“再……不过”。

本例的more（副词）意为“又”。若将句子改成Jim read more than 7 books last month.才是“吉姆上个月读了超过7本书。”

moonlight 作名词时意为“月光”，作形容词时意为“月光的”。

本例的moon（可数名词）意为“卫星”。若是当“月球”解，不可能用复数，并应有冠词。

monkey money（美国俚语）意为“临时股票”、“期票”、“外币”。
