This task is difficult to do里的to do不可改作to be done。

不可说He does it differently from she does it，该说He does it differently from her（他的做法跟她不同）。

different后面接from，to或than都有，接from最普通。接to主要用在英国。接than在美国比在英国用得多。

differ在用作“不同”解的时候后面接from，不接with。

die是不及物动词，不可用在被动语态。

English dictionary是“用英语解释英语的词典”。

diction在美国有时指演戏里的“发音”或“朗诵”，相当于英国的enunciation或elocution。

dictation是“听写”，并不是“读熟了一篇文字，从记忆里默出来”，却是听了教师的朗诵而写下来

教师做dictate（口述）的工作，不是学生做这工作

说“记日记”该用keep。例如：I keep a diary in English.
