容易误译的英语

heart is in the right place或have one's heart in the right place 意为“心地善良”、“心怀善意”。

Hear! Hear!意为“好哇！好哇！”但有时也当反语用，表示讥讽。

head and shoulders above 意为“远胜于……”。

have a glass too much 意为“喝醉”。这里的a glass是比喻性的用法，而不表示准确数量的“一杯”。

本例的head不是名词，而是不及物动词，意为“向（某方向）走”。

本例的head意为“泡沫”、“酒沫”。

have words with one 意为“与……争吵”、“与……产生口角”。have a word [a few words] with one 则是“与某人一谈”。

have the face 意为“厚颜无耻”、“厚起脸皮”、“胆敢”。

have the conscience (to do)意为“厚着脸皮（做）”。

have other fish to fry（口语）意为“另有重要事情要做”。

have no opinion of 意为“对……评价很糟”。

have no nerves 意为“泰然自若”、“保持冷静”、“满不在乎”、“无动于衷”等（根据具体的上下文选取其中一种意思）。
