易混词辨析

(1) hard可用作形容词，也可用作副词。

(1) happen, occur, take place意思均为“发生”，有时可换用。

in half和into halves意思相同，均指把某物分、切成大体相等的两半；into/in two则指“两块，两段，两部分”，不一定相等。

英式英语一般用half an hour, half a year, half a dozen表示“半小时/半年/半打”，不定冠词“a”放在half之后。

habitation, dwelling 与 residence 这些词都有“居住处”的意思。

(1) ①grow out of有“长得太高、太大以至于……不适合了”之意。

(1) ①grateful与thankful同义，对别人的帮助、善意或好处表示感谢或感激。

go on doing sth., go on to do sth., go on with, keep on, keep on doing sth., keep doing sth., keep on with sth., continue doing sth., continue to do sth. 与 proceed to do sth. 这些短语除go on to do sth.外，意思比较接近，都是“继续，持续”的意思，但在使用上有些差别。
